FPV Human Camera

Mount it on you, move like a drone pilot, not a person.

C. Shooting Instructions

  1. 01Mount on a chest harness, not a headband - chest mounting decouples the frame from your head's micro-movements.
  2. 02Move through space deliberately: lean into turns, slow down before obstacles, the way a drone pilot would fly a line.
  3. 03AutoBoost (not just On) is the right call here - it sacrifices a bit of FOV for maximum smoothing, which is what sells the illusion.
  4. 04Keep your hands and body out of frame - chest mount with Wide lens can catch your own arms at the edges.

Environment

Hallways, staircases, trails, doorways - anywhere with a clear 'flight line.'

Camera Movement

Continuous forward motion through a planned route, minimal stopping.

Timing

Any time, but avoid backlighting that the camera has to fight while you're moving fast.

Lighting

Even lighting; harsh shadows flicker distractingly when you're moving continuously.

D. Example Scenarios

Walking through doorways

Slight duck/lean as you pass through sells the 'piloted' feeling.

Staircase descent

Look slightly down and ahead, not at your feet.

Weaving through a crowd

Plan the gap before you commit - hesitation reads as human, not drone.

E. Expected Result vs. Common Mistakes

Expected Output

Smooth, continuous, slightly elevated POV footage that doesn't read as handheld.

Common Mistakes

  • Headband mounting instead of chest mounting - head bob defeats the stabilization illusion.
  • Stopping and starting abruptly - drones don't have footsteps, so sudden stops break the effect immediately.

G. Checklist Before Recording

  • — Lens set to Wide
  • 5.3K at 60 fps
  • — Stabilization: HyperSmooth 6.0 - AutoBoost
  • — Color profile: Standard (10-bit) or HLG HDR

H. Pro Tips

  • Practice the route once without recording so your movement is confident and continuous on the take.

I. Export Recommendation

Stabilize further in post only if needed; AutoBoost usually needs no extra smoothing.
